Is American Home Shield a good company for home warranties ?

I bought my home in 1999 and the previous owners had this company for their warranty.
We kept them and still do.
For about $400.00 per year (you can pay in full or make monthly payments) They will provide you with a contract that will cover just about everything in your home.
Mine covers all components of…..
Built in Micro
DishWasher
Dryer
Garbage Disposal
Range Cooktop
Washer
Then as follows
Electric:Wiring, Breakers, Outlets, Wiring to fixtures, Ceiling fans
Fridge: Machanical, (not) Ice Maker, (not) water
Heating: Duct Work, Furnace
Plumbing: Sump Pump, Drains, Water Heater,Pipes
When I have a problem I call them, give them my account and they send a selected pro to find out what it is.
They will look at the problem and decide if it can be fixed or if it has to be replaced. If it can be fixed they do so and all you pay is $50.00 for the service call. The rest is free. If he has to come out more than once for the same call you need not pay.
If it is to be replaced they replace it at no cost to you. Or they will give you the money for the amount it would cost for the part to be fixed (not full value of your next item). And you can replace the item on your own.
